Huawei to invest $100 million in Pakistan this year, plans to set up regional headquarters in Islamabad
Chinese mobile company, Huawei is ready to invest into Pakistan and CPEC with $100 million worth of new communications technology.
Huawei’s VP made this statement about the company’s investment: “Huawei will also invest $15 million in its technical support center in Pakistan and it will also hire more workforce for it, taking the number of its staff from 600 to 800 this year. Huawei is eager to initiate more projects in Pakistan on grant funding from the Chinese government.”

Pakistan Attaches Great Importance To Projects Taken Under CPEC: PM Imran Khan
Prime Minister Imran Khan recently reaffirmed his commitment to delivering the projects promised under the USD 60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Imran Khan expressed his confidence in Pakistan’s relationship with China and its ability to deliver:
“Pakistan attaches great importance to the CPEC projects. All efforts were being made to further streamline and improve coordination at all level, especially when the project has entered into its second phase with inclusion of critical areas such as agriculture and socio-economic development, he said.”

China’s Belt and Road Initiative will change 32m lives: World Bank
A fully implemented China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has the potential to lift 32m people out of poverty according to the World Bank. The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform of Pakistan has estimated that 1.2 million jobs could come from CPEC projects indirectly with as many as 700,000 local jobs being created.
