CPEC achieves major progress despite COVID-19: Pakistani official

During the ceremony organized by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, a total of 18 staff members working at various energy and infrastructure projects under CPEC, including hydropower projects, Orange Line Metro Train and Gwadar port, received the award for their distinguished performance.

Gwadar Port Provides Huge Trade Opportunity To CARs, Afghanistan: Abdul Razak Dawood

Talking to APP in an exclusive interview, adviser Abdul Razak Dawood said that government was prioritizing economic integration to promote regional trade and connect the regional important trade players with the deep sea port Gwadar.

PM Imran Khan gives directives to speed up countrywide CPEC projects

Prime Minister Imran Khan has given directives to relevant authorities to speed up the projects within the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The meeting reviewed the progress of fast-track and priority projects. The projects including agriculture technology laboratories, provision of equipment & tools and demonstration stations in the agriculture sector, smart classroom project and overseas student scholarship program in the education sector, Pakistan Vocational Schools Equipment and solarization project in Balochistan in addition to drinking water supply project for AJK & KP were reviewed with satisfaction.

China fully agrees with President Alvi’s assessment on CPEC

President Dr Arif Alvi has made a positive assessment on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) cooperation which has advanced despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the “Chinese side fully agrees with him”.

“The Chinese side fully agrees with the positive assessment made by President Dr Arif Alvi on the CPEC cooperation,” Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Wednesday during his regular briefing in response to a question about the president’s recent interview to the Chinese media.

Gwadar Fencing Project starts upgrading security network

In order to take security at new heights, Gwadar Fencing Project has finally kicked off under Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan 2017-2050, Gwadar Pro reported on Wednesday.

In collaboration with the army, Makran Administration, Gwadar Development Authority, Gwadar Port Authority and Balochistan government, installation of iron fences will complete in phases.

Initially, security fences are to be laid down around 15000-acre land of Gwadar city. Three or four entry and exit points will be established to help regulate inflow and outflow moments in a befitting manner.

Private sector lines up Gwadar port to move LNG to industry

According to details in the article, Gwadar GasPort Limited (GGPL), a joint venture company, has signed an agreement with Gwadar International Terminals Ltd (GITL) to move LNG onto special purpose trucks for re-gasification at various industrial sites across the country. The GGPL is a joint venture of the Pakistan GasPort Ltd, Al-Qasim Gas and Jamshoro Joint Venture Ltd.

The GGPL will commence engineering work at the existing Berth-3 at the Gwadar Port for shipment of LNG from a floating storage unit on to trucks for shipment to CNG stations, textile mills, fertiliser plants and other such large commercial and industrial units across the country.
