Gwadar Power Plant Construction Accelerated
In a resolute call to action, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has urged speedy progress on the construction of the Gwadar Power Plant.The Gwadar Power Plant, a 300MW coal power project led by M/s CIHC Pak Power Company (Pvt) Limited (CPPCL), holds a significant position on the priority list of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The power plant’s completion promises to enable reliable electricity supply to underpin industrial growth, attract investment, stimulate job creation, and foster the development of other industries.
Gwadar to Become Energy Hub
Pakistan’s experts anticipate that Gwadar, developed under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), will evolve into an energy hub with a technology-driven development vision and community-centric social approach. During a policy dialogue organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), emphasis was placed on expanding the scope of a green CPEC for energy generation and sustainable technology-based development. Executive director of the SDPI highlighted Gwadar’s potential to integrate traditional and renewable energy projects, particularly amidst global calls for increased renewable energy by 2030.
